You simply create a new site, connect your APs, switches, etc to your existing network and use the cloud based controller to manage. Also a separate Java installation, as in going to their site, downloading it, and installing it. The Unifi Server software comes with all the Java stuff you need. So, if you get the port 8080 is being used issue maybe try updating the chipset drivers, worked for me at least.The router, the Omada controller, a 24-port POE+ switch, and three EAP660HD APs, and one outdoor AP can all be had for under $1100. Without getting overly technical, it is basically: 2 x RPi running Pi-Hole (static IPs assigned for each) Single virtual IP to act as the DNS Address. Keepalived for health check and load balancing.One such example is UniFi's default 40 MHz channel width. Most consumer gears I believe comes in 80 MHz setting. This alone is already 2x throughput difference. However, UniFi AP users are more likely to have multiple APs, and therefore, they maybe at a risk of own interference when improperly deployed. So 40 MHz on 5 GHz radio reduce that risk ...With the current situation, get it directly from Ubiquiti is best. I would only buy it from Ubiquiti's site directly. They don't have to honor warranties and RMA for third party sellers. But the risk is yours to take it you are in a hurry. Unifi routing is not well regarded for a couple of reasons. 1. Ubiquiti is not good at support. Also, often their software/firmware updates break things. 2. Unifi likes to show you a single pane design with lots of info, but major info like traffic is just wrong.. Best only fan leak
